This
survey
was
timed to start
in Sept 1923(wide 10683/23 - flagged in Vol. below), and it

originally estimated to occupy a herval of 3
years, the airgt. being that a
geologist should go
out each year from Br. bolumbia to carry out the necessung field work.
Hong Kong, in it's turn, agreed to provide a local assistant, and to meet the cost of 1st-dars return passages for the grologist between the Colony and Dr. folumbra, besides paying him at the rate of 160 p.m. during voyages, and $120p.m. during
the 6-8 months each year when he was in the
feld.
On the above basis H. Kong's liability, while the angl. was in activi operation, must have been at the rate of at least flo00pa., but short of tracing the expend. back through the
Blue Books, we cam

has been
completed. The section on metallic mineral deposits
which was
as
left unfinished when Dr. Brock died
